Cape Town Tattoo Social Club

Finally I have taken the plunge again and opened another studio, here is the press release, writen by my awesome friend Tracy Loader.

Ink master opens Mother City's first Cape Town Tattoo Social Club

Saturday, 14 September, legendary artist and custom electric tattooer Milo "Mr Lucky" Marcer is set to launch the first Cape Town Tattoo Social Club.

MTV Base ink master, old school tattoo specialist, director and artist Milo Marcer, better known as Mr Lucky, is making his mark on Cape Town permanently. The purveyor of fine, custom, electric tattoos is expanding the tattoo business with the launch of South Africa's first  specialist skin, art and entertainment space - Cape Town Tattoo Social Club, offering a tattoo studio, custom men's lifestyle store and exclusive rooftop events area with spectacular 360 degree views of the Mother City.

The Woodstock-based studio, which opens it's doors on Saturday 14 September 2013, has been over two decades in the making.

"Cape Town Tattoo Social Club is determined to develop a friendly, enjoyable experience for all our clients, giving the highest quality in tattooing in an environment that feels like home," says Marcer.

Mr Lucky's 3rd floor Victorian library-inspired residence with breath-taking views of the city is both spacious, airy and bright and maintains the same warm, friendly, personal vibe patrons have come to expect.

Each of the specially created, sterile tattoo booths is separated by a Milo Marcer-designed screen to provide privacy but not isolating clients from enjoying a true tattooing experience. These exclusive workspaces will also guest hand-picked tattoo artists from around the country and the world to share their talent, knowledge and experiences with customers.

He says: "Clients are attended to by the artists instead of by a third party to take briefs. It's not just a business, we want to forge lifelong relationships with people."

An adjoining Victorian infused lounge extends from the studio offering a relaxing place to put up weary feet or lounge around on large leather chairs and couches while enjoying a cup of premium Italian coffee or soft drink after a tattoo session.

The studio ends in a men's lifestyle store - Greasers: a retro kustom culture inspired brand aimed specifically at guys. First to launch, is a men's skincare range offering exclusively hand-made shaving soap, hair pomade, moustache wax, after shave balm and body washes. Greasers is also stocked with straight razors, clothing and work wear with the promise of more to come. In production and almost complete, Cape Town Tattoo Social Club has commissioned two cafe racers, which will be on display and for sale.

Completing Cape Town Tattoo Social Club is an expansive, open rooftop balcony with awesome views of Cape Town. The space will play host to bi-monthly evenings featuring live music, burlesque performances, dj line-ups and a string of entertainment announcements to still be released.

Current clientele have been given automatic membership to Cape Town Tattoo Social Club allowing them to drop in to the shop at any time, hang out with Milo, have a coffee or stock up on men's lifestyle products. The shop will also keep its doors open until 8pm Wednesday to Sunday to enable customers to make appointments after work at a time that is convenient.

Cape Town Tattoo Social Club – No egos, No bull, Just real, officially launches on Saturday, 14 September 2013 by invitation only.

Love and Happiness

At this time of year when everyone is reminded that being a human being is being kind and loving, forgiving and tolerant, I feel that it's all bullshit, this is not a state for the holidays, this should be a constant state and something we should strive towards in our everyday lives. I blogged about being a "mensch" and perhaps it's good to remind ourselves what it means to be one. what follows is that blog A while ago I mentioned being a “mensch” and I was not really clear on what it means. A good friend and client brought this in for me, it’s part of an article written by Charlotte Cohen, and it sums it up well. What is a honourable mensch It is a voice, and the understanding behind it. It is the eyes, and the intelligence behind them. It is the recognition that support is needed, and asked for, giving it And the kindness that lies behind all of that. It’s keeping quiet when one ought and speaking when one should and knowing the difference. It’s giving pr...

A little this and that

It’s been a while since my last post, but I’m not going to bore you with bullshit post every second day. I have been meaning to get some stuff out, but have refrained, but some stuff just has to come out. Firstly, I have plugged a restaurant called “Orinoco” in Bree street, great value and authentic South American food, I’m afraid to say, no longer, I took Nicci for dinner and two ridiculous portions of poorly cooked food, cost over R480-00, I’m sorry, but that’s just retarded, and had the food been of an epic standard, it would not have pissed me off so much, but this is just fucked up. I complained to the owner, and the best she could do was shrug her shoulders, well that’s blown it for me, they certainly will not see me there again, and I would suggest you stay away too. It is just amazing how the odd little magazine article and a little plug here and there can give people such an attitude, Bob said it best, “Be good to the people you meet on the way up, cause you’re b...

The World Fuck..... sorry I mean CUP

I'm Italian and I'm pissed at Italy going out of the world cup, as Italians we are just build that way when it comes to soccer, but right now I'm pissed! I'm pissed at a Mexican ref that's just an asshole, pissed that Suarez felt it necessary to bite someone, but most of all I'm pissed that a poes like Mario Balotelli gets to play in a world cup, when he has to be without doubt the biggest waste of space on the european continent, I just can't find the right negative superlatives to describe his performance on and off the field. I'm not even going to get into his performance on and off the field. That's the one and only world cup post from me....
